Branding Phase 1: Rebranding Discovery Channel in such a way that it more directly connected its viewers to programming, this initial campaign focused on remarkable, local individuals who pushed boundaries and significantly impacted society. Matching them with top-shelf network talent gave viewers an opportunity to relate to and become motivated so that they could also get out and become heroes.
Consisting of print, on-air, social and OOH components, the campaign motivated viewers to engage by learning about, relating to and voicing their choices for Romanian Heroes. Online voting results were staggering, as the campaign was widely talked about and followed across the country. Discovery expanded upon the overwhelming impact of this idea just one year later.

Branding Phase 2: Following the success of the first Romanian Heroes campaign, a unique brand update was used as a call-to-arms, inciting viewers to step up and prove how they are all Romanian heroes. A direct drive to social media enabled these viewers to post their own stories, complete with photos and links, so that all participants could be recognized. Again, voting results were overwhelming and stories were unbelievably memorable & emotional. Strongly supported by President Traian Băsescu for helping to inspire a national movement, it gave Romanian citizens a true sense of personal pride, and brought participants together over the greatness of their stories and individual accomplishments.
